MINT WiMAX

Since 2003, AT4 wireless is committed with the WiMAX Forum, being selected as the 1st and only WiMAX Forum accredited laboratory on early 2005. Since then, AT4 wireless has participated in the following activities:


Test specifications  
  • Development of test cases for 802.16-2004, interoperability testing. Participation in RCT specifications for WiMAX Fixed and Mobile
  • Co-operation with ETSI in TTCN development for IEEE 802.16-2004

Test systems  
  • Development of a Radio Conformance Test System for 802.16-2004 and 802.16-2005
  • Development of a Protocol Test System for 802.16-2005 in co-operation with Aeroflex

Testing activities  
  • Validation of the Protocol Conformance Test System for WiMAX 2004

MINT E1130 - WiMAX Signalling Unit

MINT E1130 emulates either a 802.16-2005 BS or MS and records the messages transferred between the unit and the device under test.

MAC and upper layers protocol can be defined by the user, so invalid behaviours can be easily emulated or portions of the stack can be bypassed, allowing testing of partial implementations.

MINT T2100 - Pre-RCT for WiMAX

MINT T2100 is a test system developed by AT4 wireless for Mobile WiMAX™ testing for both WiMAX Mobile Stations and Base Stations.

Based on the MINT E1130 hardware, the MINT T2100 Pre-RCT for WiMAX provides a set of RF and physical layer tests and allows validation of the design prior to conformance testing, thus reducing the certification testing costs. By adding stand-alone test equipment, the MINT T2100 Pre-RCT for WiMAX can provide wider test coverage and higher dynamic range measurement and can be upgraded to a full conformance RCT.

The MINT E1130 also provides BER measurement and signalling capabilities necessary to perform Radiated PerformanceTesting according to the test specifications defined by the WiMAX Forum.

MINT T2100 supports the following profiles:

  • Profile 1A: 2.3 GHz, 8,75 MHz
  • Profile 3A: 2.5 GHz, 5MHz, 10MHz
  • Profile 5BL: 3.5 GHz, 7MHz

The platform will be capable to support profiles in other frequency bands and bandwidths.

MINT T2110 - Radio Conformance Tester

MINT T2110 is the radio conformance test platform developed by AT4 wireless and designated by the WiMAX Forum for certification of 802.16-2004 and 802.16-2005 devices. This platform covers the official test cases for certification of Base Stations (BS) and Subscriber Stations (SS) according to the WiMAX Forum profiles.
It covers transmitter test cases such as modulation and coding, spectral flatness and constellation error and receiver test cases in which the sensitivity of the Unit Under Test (UUT) is tested by using non-ideal WiMAX and/or interfering signals. MINT T2110 is an open testing platform that can be upgraded to support existing and future radio access technologies, test cases and frequency bands.

MINT T223X - Protocol Conformance Tester

MINT T223X is the protocol conformance test platform (PCT) developed by AT4 wireless, together with Aeroflex, and designated by the WiMAX Forum for certification of 802.16-2005 devices.

The PCT enables testing and validation of WiMAX vendors' PHY and MAC layer conformance before their product is submitted to a designated certification lab, and is the key test equipment for WiMAX certification labs and vendors development and validation labs.

PCT provides Development, Pre and Full Conformance Testing of both Subscriber and Base Station Equipment.
