RIDER T3121 - RFID HF R&D Test System

Beyond the scope of Conformance testing, the RIDER T3121 HF Test System supports R&D testing of NFC devices, smartcards, RFID readers and tags, and in general every device based on RFID technology operating in the HF band.

The R&D test solution uses the HW platform E1141 RFID HF Test Set and a specific R&D software application based on a virtual panel interface.

Since the RIDER HF Tester is capable in one hand, of capturing and analyzing the signals transmitted by the equipment under test without using external instrumentation like oscilloscopes or digitizers, and in the other hand it is capable of generating the necessary signalling in order to interact with the devices under test, there are several modules and options available:

  • R&D RF Measurements Module.
  • Protocol Analyzer Module.
  • Protocol Sniffer Module.

The software application provided with the R&D testing feature is based on a Virtual Panel Interface which will allow the user to develop their own test applications programmed in VEE, LabView, C/C++, LabWindows/CVI or Visual Basic.

For R&D testing, the Virtual Panel seems like a conventional instrument front panel in order to provide a familiar instrument control to the end user and the capability of a programming interface.

Therefore, and jointly with the IVI driver provided, the user will be able to create their own interface and set of measurements, configuring parameters related with the signals acquisition (acquisition time, acquisition type, reference level, type of trigger, etc.), the signal generation (standard type, role: reader or tag, type of command, modulation index, data rate, amplitude, etc.) or signal representation (display markers, scales, etc.).

For Protocol analysis purposes, the RIDER T3121 emulates different devices’ behaviours in order to build and send all types of messages described in the protocol communication rules and receive and process every Device Under Test response for its further analysis.
