AT4 wireless has developed solutions based on RFID technology that are applicable to different problem areas where the unequivocal identification of materials and/or people is a crucial issue.
Solutions
The solutions are applied to very different processes across a wide variety of sectors such as: security of people and materials, logistics, dispatch, intelligent warehouse management, traceability, etc.
Localization of personnel and materials
The advanced localization system is a wireless solution that provides precise information in order to carry out monitoring in real time of people or materials, both in open or closed spaces. The system enables the operator to locate and continuously monitor people, resources or goods within a specific area.
The incorporation of this type of solution provides significant improvements in large mobile environments where it is important to identify and localise certain people, equipment or resources. It may also increase profits.
The main advantages of this localization solution are:
- Localization in real time: less time is needed to locate people and equipment in any given space. It reduces the time required for inventory work.
- Optimisation of the work flow in production processes.
- Emergency calls: alerts the appropriate personnel in situations requiring special attention. Fast and automatic localization of the emergency.
- Reduces robbery and accidental loss of equipment and encourages a rational use of materials.
- Access to information from a control centre where the operator can generate reports, access records and view maps in real time.
Identification of people and materials in the health sector
This identification system enables improvements to be made to the patients' quality of life and helps medical personnel effectively diagnose and treat illnesses. This advanced solution helps eliminate the medical errors that can occur in verifying the identity of the patient against the medicines or treatments prescribed.
This method for identifying patients consists of using wristbands that contain an exclusive identification chip which works via radio frequency. These wristbands enable medical staff to easily and reliably identify each patient using an RFID reader (in this case by means of a PDA). Once the patient has been identified, authorised personnel are able to access their medical records instantly and securely using a PDA connected via Wi-Fi to the hospital intranet.
This system can also be used to provide immediate identification of new born babies.
The main features of this identification solution are:
- Reliable identification of patients.
- Reduces the risk in errors when treating patients.
- Provides real time access to the patient's medical record.
- Ensures the correct administration and dosage of medicines to patients.
- Controls the period over which the medicine is due to be administered as well as the expiry date for medicines.
- Improves the identification of laboratory samples.
- Aids detection of fake medicines.
Access control
This solution uses RFID technology based on wireless access controls to improve security within a building or plant. The access control systems installed at each of the necessary access points can detect whether a person is authorised to enter certain restricted areas, based on specific times (visiting hours) and/or work shifts, etc.
Each access point has a lit panel which shows the status of the control point at all times. The panel will therefore inform the relevant personnel if an unauthorised person tries to enter a restricted area.
In addition, this solution also provides information about how many people are in a particular room at any given time, controlling the entrance and exit of people into the area. It can also detect the unauthorised exit of certain goods, therefore preventing possible robberies. In this way, if equipment is removed from a non-authorised area, the system will warn the security personnel of this occurrence.
The main features of the access control solution are:
- Improves the identification process for employees and visitors.
- Restricted and controlled access to the different areas within a building based on predefined parameters.
Management of the receipt and sending of goods
Large distribution chains are increasingly beginning to demand that suppliers use RFID technology to identify products on an item, box or pallet level.
AT4 wireless offers a solution which is able to satisfy these requirements, facilitating labelling of products via RFID in the receipt and/or sending of goods and integrating the information and data in the CRM equipment used by the supplier company.
The main features of this solution are:
- RFID hybrid labelling - bar coding during the dispatch process.
- Installation of readers and antennas in loading docks.
- Assignment of mobile devices to warehouse operators.
- Verification and validation processes for the goods being dispatched.
- Integration with the client's IT systems.
Intelligent warehouse management
Once warehouse products have been identified via RFID technology, this is a useful solution for intelligent warehouse management as it prevents "losses" of goods and improves storage and retrieval processes. Our solution is based on labelling of warehouse locations and verifying the positioning of each item or pallet.
The main features are:
- Unequivocal identification of the positioning of shelves. Intelligent management of space.
- Installation of RFID devices in lifting equipment.
- Integration with inventory management applications.
- Portable equipment for operators.
- Lower operation costs by reducing the time taken to retrieve goods. It can also mean less space is needed for the storage of goods.
- Eliminates manual data entry and paperwork.
