Localization & Identification

Thanks to the convergence between short range (NFC, RFID), medium range (UWB, Zigbee and Bluetooth) and long range (WiFi, WiMax, GSM, UMTS, GPRS) wireless communication technologies, along with the implementation of the Electronic Product Code (EPC) on a worldwide level, it is now possible to offer identification and localization services both in terms of personnel and materials on a large scale, facilitating processes in a wide range of industries.

The EPC (Electronic Product Code) is a basic identification tool for products and goods which consists of a "number plate" or identification number which gives each object a unique identity (articles, pallets, localizations, etc.). Based on RFID technology, it complements and improves on technologies which currently use bar codes.

The application of RFID technology in the identification and localization of objects and/or people in controlled environments significantly improves a great many processes, while preventing major financial losses (falsifications, robbery, loss of materials and improvements in productivity), and even reduces risks to people (improved safety, traceability of food, errors in the administering of medicines, etc.).
